Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast today, digital Zen. Hopefully, this is working now I
had some problems earlier today trying to broadcast. Just looking around here, make
sure everything looks like it is working. So hopefully it is, but and hopefully you're getting
it. Anyway, if you're returning I want to say thank you for returning if it's your first time
here, I appreciate you joining very much. This podcasts going to be about a whole bunch
of different things. today. I started with a graphic before but it wasn't really working. And
my question was, where's your money hiding? You know, I think a lot of digital marketers
asset same question because from time to time we do a whole bunch of different things
and try to throw a lot of stuff against the wall and so Have a stick some of it doesn't. And I
think for most people it more often doesn't than it actually does. I mean, I know a couple
years back I started the whole digital marketing thing I got involved with some East stores
and learn learn some cool stuff from some people, but I think that at the time, for me, at
least I got involved sort of at the time that the websites were dying, you know, and sunk a
whole bunch of money into some stuff and you know, it just didn't fly I mean, they hobbled
along they made some money I won't lie it made a little they cost me more than they
made and and it kind of went on like that for a while I'd have a good month and and you
know, sales with poor in I'd hit one good ad and and they'd continue and I'd get all excited
and then I'd have a few months go by of just feeding it all back and then some. You know,
my wife was starting to get really bothered by the whole thing because my mom, I mean,
my wife didn't really have a Real entrepreneurial background like I do. And and it was
always the same, you know, I think I think he could probably understand it, you know,
when's this thing gonna work? Are we gonna? Are we gonna actually make some money
out of this? You know, can't Can we go back and get a regular job? I know you've got a
video production background, what about going back into video full time? And, you know,

I was kind of toying around with that stuff. And, and, you know, all that stuff starts working
on your brain, you know, in the background, you're thinking to yourself, Oh, come on, you
know, you got to believe you got to just keep giving me that positive stuff and got to
present to her like, Hey, you know, everything is good. You know, I got this, you know,
we're rocking and rolling, you know, but at some point, in any venture, you got to take a
look around and say, Hey, this is a non starter, it's not going anywhere, and it's not going
anywhere fast sometimes. So, you know, I went out from, from being involved in the E
stores, I started to look at funnels a little bit. And, and, you know, and I could see I actually
looked at some of Russell Brunson stuff, maybe in 20 17 I could see Click Funnels, but then
there's a million other people trying to do the same kind of thing. You know, when you find
these people who are selling funnels that are already made, they're done for you funnels,
they're, that they already have a product and, you know, they've got all this big pitch, you
know, and, you know, so some sometimes you buy some stuff, or at least I did, you know, I
don't know about yourself, you buy something from somebody, and, you know, it should
take off, all you got to do is, is put it up and, you know, blah, blah, blah. But none of that
stuff usually works. The only one who really tends to make money is the guy who sold it to
you, you know, so, so I delved a little deeper and started to do a little process and then
and then a good buddy of mine told me about this FFA challenge. It's one funnel away
challenge, you know, but but Russell Brunson put together and so I kind of got involved in
that and I really, it changed some things for me, you know, it changed the way I looked at
some things. The challenges are real good. Way to learn, it's a way to understand what's
going on from a funnel.

Building perspective, but even there, you know that it's not that they talk so much about
funnel building, it's it's really all the mentality behind it. It's the sales mentality. It's the, it's
the ability to understand the process to go from your offer to go from, you know, to
understand the offers that you're making, to understand the stories that you're telling and
to and to really get that process. It's a great program. And I advocate that very well. I
know in yesterday's a podcast, I was telling you a little bit about my background and
some of the stuff I was involved in and I kind of made a promise that I would talk about an
older my first short film that I made and what ended up happening with that. And that
was pretty cool deal. The first film I made, my partner was fantastic. It is a fantastic
photographer, videographer in my video company. Best For over 30 years, and we
decided to do a, and we decided to do a film. And we hadn't I'd never done anything like
that before I come from an editing background, and a music background. So we went out
and we shot this really cool short film, it was real avant garde and, and all this stuff. And
really fantastic. colorization really cool script a little on the Edgy side for some people,
but, but really not. You know, I'll tell you another story tomorrow about how I'm you know

how I met a hero of mine musically who contributed the music to the film. But anyway, the
film did nothing, you know. And I sat back and I looked at it for a little bit. And all of a
sudden a thought came to me and that thought was, how do I repackage something great
that we did, and put it into an audience that I knew who would appreciate it. so happened
to be looking at this website called without a box.com. And it's for filmmakers. It talks
about all kinds of film festivals and I saw a Film Noir festival was coming up in a couple of
months. And I'd never done anything Film Noir. But I really wanted to play around with
some color and all that stuff. So I did a new edit of this film. And I did a film noir styled
edit, but not really, you know, it was kind of Filmora went really black and white with
richness and all this stuff and it took some cool colorization I use the reds. Red is pretty
much the only color in my film. I had a beautiful girl that was the star of the film. And she
had red hair, red lipstick, and there was one symbolic Apple that was at the beginning in
the end of the film, and that was red. Obviously it's an apple. Those were the only things
that had color in the film. Anyway, I put that film out and I submitted it to the to the
festival. And at the end of the day, we won the festival. One Best Director, one best film,
and my actress, one Best Actress. I taught me a really, really bad valuable lesson. And the
lesson that it taught me was, if you speak to the market, in the language they want to
hear, that's really the important part of things. So I basically took what I had already had
repackaged it, and put it together, specifically for the market, in a film noir, film noir style.
And it was a really, really valuable lesson for me. So I take that lesson, and I fast forward
to digital marketing. And I think that and all kinds of content creation, and all kinds of
marketing and all of that. I think the direction that you take things is super important. So
at the beginning of this, I titled this, where is your money hiding? And I think that your
money is hiding behind the false ideas that we think about the market that we're going
into. So fast forward to where I am today, and I'm going to keep you guys a prize of this as
it goes as it goes forward. So I'm involved in this and Russell's challenge. And I've really
learned a bunch of things. And I think going forward, I'll be able to show a little bit more
and more how this whole process develops. And who knows even my wife will get on
board and be happy about the whole process this time around. Anyway, I know today's
podcast is short. I kind of jumped on before I really knew what I was going to say. So I'm
sort of just like winging it. I got my son in the back over there. He's in school and I got to
go help him out today because he's at home schooling and with all this COVID-19 and all
that stuff. So anyway, if you tune in tomorrow, I'll give you an update on on the whole
funnel process and where I'm at and I'll kind of elaborate on that a little bit more. But in
the meanwhile I really appreciate appreciate you joining subscribe to the podcast if you
can. And tomorrow I'll show you real cool bonus thing as well. Have a great day guys.
